Senior officials from various Philippine government agencies, led by DMW Undersecretary Maria Anthonette Velasco Allones and DFA Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega, welcomed the return of the second batch of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
The group, consisting of 18 OFW returnees, touched down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on October 20, 2023, at 3:55 PM, via Etihad flight EY 424.
The government agencies provided immediate assistance to the returning OFWs. The participating agencies include the DMW (Department of Migrant Workers), OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration), DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development), TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority), DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs), and DOH (Department of Health).
The support includes psycho-social counseling, stress debriefing, medical referral, and reintegration services.
