During the proceedings of the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, Senator Raffy Tulfo directed inquiries at Brgy. Capt. Bryan Freeman of Sentro 6, Aparri, Cagayan, regarding his involvement in the alleged manipulation of closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage related to the recent ambush of Aparri Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda and five of his aides.
The incident has sparked public concern and prompted a deeper investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack. In an attempt to shed light on the matter, Senator Tulfo probed Brgy. Capt. Freeman's willingness to undergo a polygraph examination, a voluntary procedure aimed at revealing possible deception or inconsistencies in a person's statements. While Sen. Tulfo emphasized that the results of such a test are not admissible in court, he believed that Freeman's willingness to submit to the examination could help dispel suspicions and establish his innocence in the eyes of the public.
"I understand that this is voluntary and that the polygraph test result is not admissible in court. But if you really have nothing to hide, the polygraph test could help clear your name," Senator Tulfo urged Freeman during the proceedings.
In response, Freeman refused to take the polygraph test, asserting his decision to await the proper court proceedings instead. He maintained his innocence and stated that he would cooperate fully with the legal process to ensure a fair and unbiased investigation into the allegations. The refusal raised eyebrows among the committee members and those following the proceedings, as Freeman's choice not to undergo the test raised questions about his willingness to transparently address the concerns surrounding the CCTV footage.
The ambush of Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda and his aides has gripped the nation's attention, and the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs is committed to unraveling the truth behind the incident. As the investigation continues, public scrutiny intensifies, and the role of key individuals, including Brgy. Capt. Freeman, remains under close examination.
