Senate Investigation Into Allegations against Socorro Bayanihan Group Begins
Screengrab from Senate PH
Jay Rence Quilario, widely known as Senyor Agila and leader of an alleged cult accused of involvement in sexual abuse, forced marriages, human trafficking, and more, appeared before a Senate hearing.

Disturbing allegations were made by a former member of the alleged cult, presented as Alias “Jane” at the Senate. This includes the forced marriage of several minors within the cult and “authorized rape” by Quilario.

Alias “Jane” claimed that children within the group were not allowed to leave their compound, referred to as "kapihan," and alleged that they were denied access to education.

Quilario vehemently denied these accusations.

Senator Bato Dela Rosa issued a stern warning to Quilario, saying, "Makinig ka , kahit na ikaw ay haring agila, pwede ka pading ipakukulong ng "Bato" kapag ikaw ay nag sinungaling dito sa senado. bibigyan kita ng fair warning, wag ka magsinungaling dito magsabi ka ng totoo kung talagang ikaw ay reincarnation ng Diyos ay dapat lahat ng virtues ng isang Diyos ay nasayo "(Listen, even if you're the king of eagles, 'Bato' can still lock you up if you lie in this Senate. Consider this a fair warning, do not lie here; tell the truth. If you claim to be the reincarnation of a god, then you should possess all the virtues of a god.)

The Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed that they have already filed cases with the provincial prosecutor of Surigao Del Norte against the Socorro Group.
