Senate President Strongly Condemns Chinese Attack On Philippine Resupply Mission In WPS

Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri denounced the recent aggressive actions of Chinese ships targeting Philippine vessels on a resupply mission to the BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal.
Zubiri asserted that China's behavior portrays them as bullies, illegally infringing upon the Philippines' Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) with sheer size and force, challenging the invalidated claims over the West Philippine Sea by the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
Despite facing water cannons and blockades, Zubiri highlighted the unwavering determination of the Philippine Navy and Coast Guard to safeguard their EEZ. He cautions the Chinese Coast Guard that their disproportionate aggression contradicts their claims of acting in self-defense.
