In response to the recent harassment incident involving the Chinese Coast Guard using water cannons against Philippine vessels during a resupply mission en route to the Ayungin Shoal, Senator Bong Go expressed his strong condemnation. He urged an end to the bullying of the Philippine Coast Guard and called for respect to be shown towards the country.

Former President Duterte had emphasized the importance of mutual respect during his six-year term, and Senator Go reiterated that the same respect should be reciprocated towards the Philippines. He emphasized that being a smaller nation in terms of military strength does not justify disrespectful actions from other countries.

Senator Go also called upon other countries, including the United States, which has mutual defense agreements with the Philippines through the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), to provide support and protection against such incidents. He emphasized the importance of using these agreements and military exercises to safeguard the country's sovereign rights.

The senator expressed his hope that this incident will not be repeated and urged all parties involved to uphold respect and diplomacy in resolving maritime disputes.
