Senator Jose Victor (JV) Ejercito underscores the critical need for improved airport connectivity between the NAIA terminals and Clark International Airport in Pampanga amidst ongoing efforts to rehabilitate Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and the anticipated completion of the 147-kilometer North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) by 2029.
Proposing immediate solutions, Senator Ejercito calls on the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to bridge the gap between airports to facilitate smoother transfers.
The NSCR, featuring 36 stations across commercial hubs in the National Capital Region and neighboring provinces, will boast an express train service reaching speeds of 160 kilometers per hour, promising to revolutionize travel in Southeast Asia.
With JICA and the ADB providing significant funding, the NSCR aims to cut travel time by half between Calamba and Clark, accommodating up to 800,000 daily passengers.
The NSCR, slated for operational status in 2029, stands as a testament to the government's commitment to modernizing transportation infrastructure, promising enhanced connectivity and efficiency for Filipino commuters.
