Senator Pia Cayetano Becomes First Female Chairperson of Senate's Blue Ribbon Committee

The Senate has named Senator Pia Cayetano as the new Chairperson of the chamber's Blue Ribbon Committee, marking a historic milestone as she becomes the first-ever female to hold this position in the Senate's history.

Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri acknowledged this significant achievement, highlighting the trailblazing moment for gender representation in the Senate.

Senate Minority Floor Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III was quick to extend his congratulations to Senator Cayetano on her historic appointment. He expressed the Minority's support for the Majority's decision, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the groundbreaking achievement.

“The Minority applauds the decision of the Majority, Mr. President. And we congratulate our first-ever female Chairperson of our Senate Blue Ribbon Committee,” stated Senator Pimentel, recognizing the importance of diversity and inclusivity in leadership roles within the Senate.
