Senator Risa Says No Signature Yet On Subpoena Request Against Quiboloy

Senator Risa Hontiveros addressed concerns regarding the Senate's inaction on the subpoena request for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, amid allegations of abuse.
The senator emphasized the committee's commitment to pursuing the investigation despite delays in obtaining the necessary documents.
During the briefing, a reporter questioned Senator Hontiveros about the apparent delay in processing the subpoena request, which was submitted to the Senate President on February 6. The reporter asked if this delay suggested any suspicious circumstances surrounding the request.
In response, Senator Hontiveros clarified that she refrains from speculating and intrigue, urging reporters to direct their questions to the Senate President for an explanation. She confirmed following up with the Senate President's office and advised further inquiries to get a comprehensive response.
When asked about the Senate President's stance on signing the subpoena, Senator Hontiveros revealed that as of the current date, it has not been signed.
The reporter sought clarification on whether there was a promise that the Senate President would sign it in the future, to which Hontiveros explained that while there was no explicit promise, the context of the reasons might influence a change in decision.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the subpoena's status, Senator Hontiveros stressed the importance of obtaining a signed subpoena from the Senate President.
