Former Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque together with the anchors and journalists of Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) filed a petition to declare as unconstitutional the indefinite suspension of the network's franchise.

The suspension was imposed by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), sparking concerns about the freedom of expression and the press in the country.

They claim that the suspension is a curtailment of the fundamental rights of freedom of expression and of the press, principles that are vital for a thriving democracy.
