In a press briefing held on Tuesday September 19, 2023, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla revealed that over 10 individuals associated with the self-proclaimed Socorro cult have been recommended for prosecution on charges related to sex trafficking.

This announcement follows the revelations made by Senator Risa Hontiveros concerning the alleged criminal activities of the cult.

"Since June 1, we have identified more than ten individuals who are now recommended for prosecution in connection with the Socorro cult, as revealed by Senator Risa Hontiveros," stated Justice Secretary Remulla during the press briefing.

Remulla expressed his commitment to a thorough investigation of these allegations, stating, "We will initiate an investigation through the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and we will file charges against all those who are legally liable. They will be held accountable under the law."
