Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez has announced that 11 additional bills proposed by the Partido Bagong Bayan (PBBM) have been approved by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. as part of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC). These bills aim to address public health, job creation, and economic growth, and are part of the administration's priority legislation.

The new bills include amendments to the AFP Fixed Term Bill, Ease of Paying Taxes, Maharlika Investment Fund, Local Government Unit Income Classification, Amendment to Universal Health Care Act, Bureau of Immigration Modernization, Infrastructure Development Plan/Build Build Build Program, Philippine Salt Industry Development Act, Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Capital Accounting System (PENCAS), National Employment Action Plan, and Amendment to the Anti-Agricultural Smuggling Act. The remaining eight LEDAC bills from the original 31 bills will be aimed to approve before the sine die adjournment of Congress on June 2.

Speaker Romualdez assured the public that these proposed pieces of legislation support the President’s Agenda for Prosperity and his eight-point socio-economic roadmap. He further added that these bills are intended to sustain economic growth, hasten the country’s digital transformation, and speed up the delivery of public services to the people, among other objectives. Congress aims to approve all the urgent measures identified by President Marcos in less than a year.
