The Offices of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez and Tingog Party-list Representatives Yedda Marie K. Romualdez and Jude Acidre have facilitated the distribution of relief goods and financial aid to 331 families affected by two separate fire incidents in Quezon and Mandaluyong Cities.

The financial aid, provided under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations Program (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), was granted to families who suffered losses due to fires that occurred in Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City, and Barangay Bagbag, Quezon City on June 14 and 15, respectively.

Speaker Romualdez expressed his hope that the financial aid from the DSWD could alleviate the pain experienced by the families who lost their homes to these fire incidents.

A total of 206 families affected by the fire in Barangay Bagbag, Quezon City received P10,000 each in financial assistance during a payout ceremony held at the Remarville Basketball Court last Saturday.

Similarly, 125 families affected by the fire in Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City, also received the same amount of financial aid.

The financial aid amounted to a total of P3.31 million

Mandaluyong City Rep. Neptali "Boyet" Gonzales II and Quezon City Rep. Patrick Michael "PM" Vargas expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Speaker Romualdez and Tingog Party-list for facilitating the release of financial aid to the affected families.

"On behalf of the families affected by the fire in Mandaluyong, we express our sincerest gratitude to Speaker Romualdez and Tingog Party-list for extending financial aid at a time when it is most needed. Please bear in mind that this act of love and compassion will not be forgotten," Gonzales said.

Vargas said that the financial assistance could help the affected families rebuild their lives and homes.

“Thanks to Speaker Romualdez and Tingog Party-list, these families can
get back on their feet and rebuild what was lost. We are very thankful for this grand gesture. It gives hope to the people,” Vargas said.

In addition to the financial aid, relief goods were also distributed to the fire victims in Mandaluyong City, many of whom are currently seeking temporary shelter at the Tanglaw Covered Court in Block 19-A.
