The National Basketball Association's all-time 3-point leader and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is gearing up to face off against WNBA's single-season 3-point record holder and New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu in the first-ever "Stephen vs. Sabrina" NBA vs. WNBA 3-Point Challenge. This electrifying event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, as part of State Farm All-Star Saturday Night.

As a meaningful component of the challenge, Curry's Eat.Learn.Play. nonprofit and Ionescu's SI20 Foundation will each receive a generous donation from the NBA and WNBA. Moreover, State Farm will contribute to the NBA Foundation for economic empowerment in the Black community, with each made shot by Curry and Ionescu translating to financial support. Regular 3-pointers will be valued at $1,000, the money ball at $2,000, and the "STARRY Range Ball" (a deep 3-pointer from 29 feet, 9 inches away) at $3,000.

"Stephen vs. Sabrina" will adhere to the standard STARRY 3-Point Contest rules. Curry will shoot from the NBA 3-point line using NBA basketballs, while Ionescu will showcase her skills from the WNBA 3-point line with WNBA basketballs.

The challenge was initiated when Ionescu, having triumphed in the STARRY WNBA 3-Point Contest at AT&T WNBA All-Star 2023, where she set a WNBA and NBA single-round event record with 37 points, publicly called out Curry. Responding to the challenge during a TNT broadcast of Golden State's game against the Sacramento Kings on Jan. 25, Curry, a two-time NBA 3-Point Contest champion, embraced the opportunity. Ionescu promptly accepted the challenge through her post on X “Let’s getttttt it!! See ya at the 3 pt line ”

In a career defined by precision and dominance beyond the arc, Curry holds the NBA record with an impressive 3,577 regular-season 3-pointers. On the other hand, Ionescu's remarkable 2023 season saw her establish a WNBA single-season record with 128 3-pointers.
