Survivors of M/Y Dream Keeper, a dive yacht that sank due to a squall a few miles off Tubbataha Reef in Palawan, have been transported back to Manila.
According to a statement released by Western Command (WESCOM) of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), 11 of the 28 survivors boarded the Philippine Air Force (PAF) C295 aircraft at the Antonio Bautista Air Base in Puerto Princesa City. They were flown to Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, where they reunited with their families on May 2.
The remaining survivors have also returned home via commercial flights, except for some of the Dream Keeper crew members who stayed in Puerto Princesa City.
WESCOM said that the search still continues for the four missing passengers of the sunken dive yacht.
"WESCOM already intensified its search and rescue (SAR) efforts and has collaborated with other government agencies and the US counterparts in the area to assist in the ongoing SAR operations," according to its statement.
