Taiwan Extends Period For 14-Day Visa Free Entry Program
The Taiwan Tourism Bureau and Taiwan Visitors Association led a delegation to participate in the 10th Travel Madness Expo (TME), held from 30 June to 2 July 2023.

The expo served as a platform to promote Taiwan's unique attractions and strengthen tourism ties between Taiwan and the Philippines. Two Taiwan Tourism Workshops were also organized as part of the event, with one held in Clark on 28 June and the other in Manila on 30 June.

Wallace Minn-Gan Chow, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, joined the workshops and delivered a speech highlighting the immense potential of the Philippine tourism market. Given the geographical proximity of Taiwan and the Philippines, as well as the increasing number of weekly flights between both countries, Ambassador Chow emphasized the significant opportunities for tourism collaboration.

During the workshops, Chow announced the extension of Taiwan's trial 14-day visa-free entry program for nationals of the Philippines. Originally set to expire on August 1, 2023, the program has now been extended until 31 July 2024. This move aims to attract more Filipino tourists to Taiwan and achieve the target of welcoming 320,000 Filipino visitors in 2023. Chow encouraged all Filipino friends to take advantage of this visa-free travel opportunity and experience the vibrant beauty of Taiwan.

As part of the TME grand opening, Chow also visited the Taiwan Pavilion, which showcased a wide array of interesting activities and local delights. Visitors were treated to unique experiences such as the OhBear foldable Frisbees fan painting, do-it-yourself pineapple cake workshops, sustainable straw weaving workshops, and the chance to savor Taiwan's renowned pearl milk tea and red bean milk shaved ice. The highlight of the pavilion was the performance group "Eye Catching Circus," who presented lively dances, showcasing Taiwan's diverse culture and warm hospitality.
