The Philippines welcomed the safe return of 25 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and a 4-month-old infant affected by the escalating Israel-Hamas conflict. The returning OFWs arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City yesterday afternoon.

House Committee Chair on Overseas Workers Affairs Rep. Ron Salo and DMW Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo J. Cacdac, alongside senior officials from various government agencies, welcomed home the returnees. Immediate assistance and various forms of support were provided to the OFWs upon their arrival, ensuring their smooth transition back home.

The repatriation effort, a collaborative initiative involving multiple government agencies, has been instrumental in facilitating the return of Filipinos affected by the conflict. Among the agencies providing aid were the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), offering financial and reintegration assistance.

Additionally, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) extended livelihood support, while the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) offered skills training and upskilling opportunities. The Department of Health (DOH) provided immediate medical assistance and referrals to ensure the OFWs' well-being.

As of October 24, 2023, a total of 59 OFWs have safely returned home through these repatriation endeavors.
