In a thrilling home game at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna, sophomore wingman Jaydee Tungcab showcased his value for the TNT Tropang Giga during their encounter with the visiting Chiba Jets in the East Asia Super League (EASL).

Despite a 75-66 loss, Tungcab's standout performance was a silver lining for the Tropang Giga, who struggled to keep up with the Jets.

Tungcab, a former University of the Philippines standout, emerged as the lone local player to reach double figures, contributing 10 points, including two crucial three-pointers.

His timely baskets in the second quarter prevented the Jets from pulling away, demonstrating his potential as a key player for TNT.

Coach Jojo Lastimosa, a retired PBA great, praised Tungcab's performance, emphasizing his ability to seize the opportunity and make an impact on the game.

The Tropang Giga, missing their second import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson due to gastroenteritis, faced a challenging night against the Jets.

However, Tungcab's resilience and contribution were acknowledged by Coach Lastimosa.

"It's nice to see some guys step up who have not played a lot. He's gonna help us down the road," added Lastimosa.

This match marked TNT's second loss in Group A, leaving them winless this season and extending their losing streak to 0-4 dating back to the EASL Champions Week last March. Despite the setbacks, Tungcab's standout performance offers a glimmer of hope for the Tropang Giga as they continue their EASL campaign.
