Assisting Speaker Romualdez in the aid distribution were Tolosa Mayor Erwin Ocaña, Vice Mayor Menardo Mate, and representatives from the DSWD, including Raquel Bateo. Several local officials from Tolosa were also present as witnesses to the event.
It is worth noting that previously, 2,000 youth beneficiaries in Tacloban City received P500 financial assistance through the AICS program. Speaker Romualdez, along with Tingog Reps. Romualdez and Acidre, facilitated the release of the P10 million cash aid for this purpose.
Chairperson of the House Committee on Accounts, Rep. Yedda Romualdez, pledged that Tingog Party-list would continue delivering services directly or indirectly through government agencies like the DSWD to the people of Eastern Visayas, as well as Leyteños and Samareños in other parts of the country.
As the leader of the House of Representatives, Speaker Romualdez reiterated his commitment to assisting the Marcos administration in providing services that uplift the lives of the Filipino people, particularly through the budget process. He emphasized that the national budget, which consists of collected taxes, is distributed to the public.
Speaker Romualdez further explained that each congressional district or party-list group has its respective representatives to ensure the fair allocation of government resources, including assistance programs, essential services, and infrastructure projects.
Additionally, Speaker Romualdez expressed optimism about future development plans for Eastern Visayas and neighboring areas, expressing confidence in President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s support for these endeavors. He highlighted that President Marcos, whose "R" stands for Romualdez, represents not only the Ilocanos but also the Waray people, who constitute fifty percent of his heritage and have ties to Tolosa.
