TVJ Announces Departure From Eat Bulaga After 44 Years

In a surprise announcement on today's episode of Eat Bulaga, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon revealed that they will be leaving the long-running noontime show. The trio, popularly known as TVJ, expressed their gratitude to the networks that had been their homes throughout their illustrious career.
Tito Sotto began by stating, "Pumasok po kami lahat ngayong araw para makapagtrabaho, pero hindi po kami pinayagang umere ng new management, ng live. Hindi po kami pinayagang mag-live ng new management.” This statement indicated that there had been a change in the show's management and a decision had been made not to let them continue their live performances. Joey de Leon then took a moment to reminisce about the beginnings of Eat Bulaga, saying, "Kung natatandaan nyo po, July 30, 1979, nang simulan namin ang Eat Bulaga. 44 years na po ngayong taon na to, 44 na taon. Kaya naman lubos ang aming pasasalamat sa mga naging tahanan namin. Unang-una ang RPN- 9 for 9 years, siyam na taon po. Ang ABS-CBN for 6 years, 6 na taon at ang GMA for 28 years, 28 taon. Thank you very much.."
Vic Sotto added, Nagpapasalamat din kami sa lahat ng advertisers mula 1979 na nagmahal, nagtiwala at sumuporta sa amin." The trio acknowledged the tremendous support they had received over the years from the advertisers who believed in their talents and contributions to the show's success.
Tito Sotto expressed his gratitude to the fans, the viewers, and the program itself, saying, "Ganun din sa inyo, higit sa lahat, ganun din po sa inyo mga dabarkads, sa mga manonood, sa inyong pagmamahal, sa programang naging bahagi ng inyong tanghalian.
Lubos din ang aming pasasalamat kay Mr. Tony Tuviera sa pagkakaibigan at pagiging bahagi ng aming pamilya at higit sa lahat sa Panginoong Diyos na kahit kailan hindi niya kami pinabayaan.”
Vic Sotto concluded, "Hindi na po namin iisa isahin ang laman ng aming mga puso at damdamin. Ang hangad lang po namin ay mga pagtrabaho ng mapayapa, walang maaagrabiado at may respeto sa bawat isa.
"Simula ngayong araw, May 31, 2023, kami po ay magpapaalam na sa Tape, Inc. Karangalan alam po namin na kami nakapaghatid ng tuwa at saya, mula batanes hanggang jolo at naging bahagi ng buhay ninyo. Marami-marami salamat sa inyong lahat hanggang sa muli, saan man kami dalhin ng tadhana, tuloy ang isang libut, isang tuwa."
