Typhoon "Chedeng" continues to maintain its strength as it moves slowly northward over the Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The weather agency reported that "Chedeng" is unlikely to directly bring heavy rainfall to the country in the next three days.

However, the Southwest Monsoon may be enhanced by the typhoon, resulting in occasional rains over the western portions of Luzon and Visayas during this period.

PAGASA also stated that there is no immediate need to hoist Wind Signals in anticipation of tropical cyclone severe winds. However, the Southwest Monsoon's enhancement may bring gusty conditions to various areas, especially in coastal and upland/mountainous localities exposed to winds.

Today, areas including Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zambales, Bataan, Camiguin, and Dinagat Islands could experience these gusty conditions.

Tomorrow, Ilocos Region, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, and Northern Samar may be affected.

On Monday, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Marinduque, Romblon, Occidental Mindoro, the northern portion of Palawan including Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Islands, Antique, and Aklan are expected to experience gusty conditions.

Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures due to moderate to rough seas (2.0 to 3.5 meters) that Chedeng may bring over the seaboards of Extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of mainland Northern Luzon in the next 24 hours.

Regarding Chedeng's track and intensity outlook, PAGASA predicted that the typhoon will remain far from the Philippine landmass.

It is forecasted to move northward or north-northeastward today through tomorrow morning before turning generally northeastward for the remainder of tomorrow.

Afterward, Chedeng is expected to accelerate northeastward towards the sea southeast of Japan and east of the Ryukyu Islands. The typhoon may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between tomorrow late evening or on Monday early morning.

While Chedeng is forecasted to maintain its strength within the next 12 hours, it is anticipated to enter a weakening trend tomorrow. Nevertheless, the tropical cyclone is projected to remain a typhoon within the forecast period.

Based on available data, the eye of Typhoon Chedeng was estimated to be located at approximately 880 kilometers east of Northern Luzon or 840 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon (19.3°N, 129.9°E).
