Typhoon Egay Maintains Its Strength, Exits Philippine Area Of Responsibility

Typhoon Egay maintains its strength as it moves away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
According to PAGASA's Tropical Cyclone Bullettin issued at 11:00 a m. today, July 27, the center of the typhoon's eye was estimated at 255 km West of Itbayat, Batanes, positioned outside PAR at coordinates 20.9 °N and 119.4 °E.
It continues to move in a North Northwestward direction at a speed of 15 km/h.
Despite being outside PAR, Typhoon Egay is still expected to influence the weather in certain regions.
The Southwest Monsoon, amplified by the presence of Egay, will bring occasional to monsoon rains over the western portions of Central Luzon and Southern Luzon for the next three days.
The affected areas include Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands, which are anticipated to experience rainfall of 50-100 mm.
Residents in the following areas not under any Wind Signal should remain vigilant, especially in coastal and upland/mountainous regions exposed to winds.
Today, Luzon and Western Visayas will experience gusty conditions, followed by Batanes, Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, the southern portion of Quezon, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas tomorrow, July 28.
On Saturday, July 29, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Romblon, Antique, and Kalayaan Islands will be affected by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.
As for the Wind Signals, the following areas have been issued advisories: Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2: • Batanes • Northwestern portion of Cagayan (Claveria, Santa Praxedes) including Babuyan Islands • Northern portion of Ilocos Norte (Pagudpud, Adams, Bangui, Dumalneg, Burgos)
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1: • Pangasinan • La Union • Ilocos Sur • Rest of Ilocos Norte • Rest of Cagayan • Apayao • Kalinga • Mountain Province • Ifugao • Abra • Benguet • Isabela • Quirino • Nueva Vizcaya • Northern portion of Aurora (Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dilasag) • Northern portion of Nueva Ecija (Cuyapo, Guimba, Pantabangan, Science City of Muñoz, Carranglan, San Jose City, Lupao, Nampicuan, Talugtug) • Northern portion of Tarlac (Paniqui, Moncada, Pura, Camiling, Ramos, San Manuel, Anao, San Clemente)
Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions and closely monitor updates from PAGASA and local authorities to ensure their safety and preparedness for any potential impacts caused by Typhoon Egay and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.
