Typhoon Egay Makes Landfall Over Dalupiri Island Cagayan

Typhoon Egay, a powerful tropical cyclone, has maintained its strength and made landfall over Dalupiri Island in Cagayan, the Philippines. As of 10:00 AM, the center of the eye of Typhoon Egay was estimated to be over the coastal waters of Aparri, Cagayan, at coordinates 19.0°N and 121.2°E. The typhoon is exhibiting maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h near the center, with gustiness of up to 240 km/h, and a central pressure of 935 hPa. The storm is currently moving southwestward at a speed of 15 km/h.

In addition to the affected areas under the TCWS, Egay and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring gusty conditions over other regions not under any Wind Signal, especially in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds.
