Typhoon Egay Slowly Moves Away From Dalupiri Island

At 4:00 PM, the center of Typhoon Egay's eye was located approximately 70 km West Northwest of Calayan, Cagayan (19.4°N, 120.8°E). The typhoon continues to exhibit its strength with maximum sustained winds reaching 175 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 240 km/h, and a central pressure of 935 hPa. Presently, Typhoon Egay is moving in a northwestward direction at a speed of 10 km/h.

The extent of tropical cyclone winds spans outward up to 700 km from the center. As the typhoon moves away from Dalupiri Island, its impact is being felt across several regions, prompting weather warnings.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued Red Warning Level for the following areas: Babuyan Group of Islands, Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and La Union. Residents in these regions are experiencing serious flooding and landslides in flood and landslide-prone areas.

The following areas are under Orange Warning Level: Mountain Province, Ifugao, Batanes, Northern Cagayan (Sta. Ana, Gonzaga, Abulug, Buguey, Sta. Teresita, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Ballesteros, Lal-lo, Gattaran, Allacapan, Pamplona, Sanchez Mira, Claveria, Sta. Praxedes). Residents in these regions are advised to remain vigilant as flooding and landslides continue to pose a threat in susceptible areas.

Yellow Warning Level is in effect for Pangasinan, the rest of Cagayan, and Nueva Vizcaya. Residents in these areas are urged to exercise awareness and caution due to the possibility of flooding and landslides in flood and landslide-prone zones.

Furthermore, Isabela and Quirino are currently experiencing light to moderate rains, with occasional heavy downpours persisting for 2-3 hours.

As Typhoon Egay gradually moves away from Dalupiri Island, authorities and communities in the affected regions are closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of residents. Residents in at-risk areas are advised to follow local authorities' guidelines and take necessary precautions to mitigate potential risks from the adverse weather conditions.
