As of 4:00 PM today, July 31, 2023, Typhoon Falcon's center was estimated at 1,020 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (23.0°N, 131.4°E). It possesses maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h near the center, with gustiness reaching up to 205 km/h. The central pressure is recorded at 940 hPa.

Falcon is currently moving in a North Northwestward direction at a speed of 15 km/h. Strong to typhoon-force winds extend outwards up to 650 km from the center.

As of the latest update, no Wind Signal has been hoisted.

The Southwest Monsoon, intensified by Typhoon Falcon, is expected to bring occasional monsoon rains over the western portion of Luzon and Visayas in the next three days. Due to forecasted higher rainfall in elevated or mountainous areas, there is a heightened risk of flooding and rain-induced landslides, particularly in regions identified as highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards.

In the next 12 hours, Falcon is projected to continue its steady movement in a north northwestward or northwestward direction. It is then expected to turn west northwestward over the Philippine Sea tomorrow. There is a possibility that the typhoon may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow afternoon or evening. Outside PAR, Falcon will shift to a west northwestward track, passing close to the Okinawa Islands in the Ryukyu Archipelago between tomorrow evening and Wednesday morning, while gradually decelerating. During this period, Falcon is expected to further intensify, reaching its peak intensity while maintaining strength over the Okinawa Islands.

Given these developments, the public, disaster risk reduction, and management offices are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Residents in areas identified as highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards should closely follow evacuation and other instructions from local authorities.

For localized severe weather information, including heavy rainfall warnings and thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, please monitor updates from your local PAGASA Regional Services Division. Mariners of small seacrafts are urged to exercise caution when navigating coastal waters along the northern, western, and southern seaboards of Luzon due to moderate to rough seas caused by the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Falcon.
