In a crucial setback for the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors, rising star Precious Momowei will miss the must-win game against Ateneo due to a one-game suspension.

This penalty stems from Momowei's second unsportsmanlike foul of the season during last Sunday's (November 12,2023) clash with La Salle.

The unsportsmanlike foul was incurred at the 6:43 mark of the second quarter in the Red Warriors' recent defeat to the Green Archers, triggering an automatic suspension.

Unfortunately, this also eliminates Momowei from contention in the Rookie of the Year race, a category he was leading.

Momowei's first unsportsmanlike foul occurred on October 15, 2023, in the Red Warriors' initial encounter with the Adamson Soaring Falcons.

This incident, taking place with 7:38 left in the game, has now come back to haunt him with the subsequent suspension.

The timing of Momowei's absence couldn't be worse, as the Red Warriors desperately need a victory against Ateneo to stay in contention for the last Final Four spot. The team faces a challenging test in Wednesday's game without their promising player on the court.
