Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced his decision to replace the current Minister of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov. This decision comes after Reznikov's tenure of more than 550 days during a period of full-scale war in the country.

President Zelensky expressed his belief that the Ministry of Defense requires new approaches and different formats of interaction, both with the military and society at large. As a result, he has chosen Rustem Umerov to lead the Ministry of Defense. Umerov is a well-known figure in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and President Zelensky believes that he is the right person for the role, requiring no additional introductions.

The President now looks to the Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, for their support in confirming Rustem Umerov as the new Minister of Defense. This announcement coincides with the autumn season, symbolizing a time for strengthening Ukraine's defense efforts.

"Glory to Ukraine!" President Zelensky concluded his announcement, emphasizing the importance of unity and resilience during these challenging times.
