Don Trollano had a record-breaking night as he led the NLEX Road Warriors to a dominant 142-125 victory over Terrafirma in the PBA Governors Cup on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Trollano, the 31-year-old guard, was unstoppable in the second half, scoring 24 of his career-high 44 points in the third quarter, where the Road Warriors pulled away for good. He set a new league record by hitting 9-of-11 from three-point range, surpassing the previous record of eight jointly held by Allan Caidic, Von Pessumal, and RenRen Ritualo.

The nine consecutive three-pointers by Trollano also became the all-time high in PBA history. Meanwhile, the Road Warriors' 23 triples tied the all-time record made by San Miguel and TNT, while surpassing their previous franchise record of 21 three-pointers in the 2019 Philippine Cup.

Despite the new records set, NLEX coach Frankie Lim emphasized that the win was the most important thing. The Road Warriors now have a 7-3 record, putting them in contention for a Top 4 finish and a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs.

Import Wayne Selden also had an impressive performance, contributing 38 points, six rebounds, and eight assists while shooting 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. Rookie big man Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser added a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds.

For Terrafirma, point guard Juami Tiongson had a team-high 38 points built on six triples. However, it was not enough to prevent their fifth straight loss, which eliminated them from contention for a quarterfinals berth.

The Road Warriors led by as many as 28 points early in the fourth period, capping off a dominant performance that showcased their offensive firepower.
