In a remarkable display of dedication and passion for the sport she loves, Vanie Gandler, a rookie player for the Cignal HD Spikers, demonstrated her unwavering commitment to volleyball by rushing from her college graduation ceremony to join her team in a Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference game.

Gandler, who recently graduated from Ateneo de Manila University, wasted no time in making her presence felt on the court. As the HD Spikers clashed with the formidable F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in an intense second set, Gandler arrived at the bench, clad in her game uniform.

Despite the exhaustion and the emotions associated with graduating, she expressed her unwavering willingness to play, leaving her coach and teammates amazed.

Although Gandler could only participate in the last two sets, her contribution to the game was significant. However, the HD Spikers suffered their first loss in Pool B, with a final score of 20-25, 28-30, 25-23, 22-25 against the Cargo Movers.

Coach Shaq Delos Santos expressed his admiration for Gandler's determination and perseverance, praising her effort as truly amazing. He emphasized the team's preparedness to wait for her and acknowledged her role in their long-term plans, recognizing her potential as a valuable asset to the HD Spikers.

Delos Santos, who is also the head coach of the University of the Philippines team, congratulated Gandler on her graduation and expressed his belief that the best is yet to come for the young athlete. He exuded pride in having Gandler as part of the team and emphasized her many roles and significant contributions she would make.

Gandler's professional debut had already left an impression, scoring eight points in Cignal's opening win over Petro Gazz, a team led by her former college coach, Oliver Almadro. However, as her graduation day marked a bittersweet moment for her, the HD Spikers experienced their first loss, resulting in a 1-1 record against the Cargo Movers.
