Mar-Jana Phillips is now one step closer to achieving her dream of playing in the Korean league after being drafted in the KOVO 2023 Korean V-League. This makes her the first Filipino to play in the league and has sparked excitement among her supporters.

Phillips shared her excitement and gratitude in a statement saying, "It has always been my dream to play in the Korean league and now I have a chance to show what Filipinos can do. I promise to give it everything I got and make the Filipinos proud. Maraming Salamat po sa inyong lahat who have supported me through my journey. Please keep supporting me as I enter this new chapter. Thank you Gwangju Ai Peppers for giving me this opportunity."

Her current team, Petro Gazz, also took to their social media to congratulate her and wish her luck. They posted on their Facebook page, "DRAFTED! Congratulations, MJ Phillips for being drafted in KOVO 2023 Korean V-League. We wish you good luck and thank you for bringing glory to our country for being the first Filipino to play in Korea!"
