VP Sara In Brunei For Three Day Working Visit

Her Excellency Sara Zimmerman Duterte-Carpio, the Vice President and Secretary of the Department of Education of the Republic of the Philippines, arrived in Brunei Darussalam this morning as part of a three-day working visit.

Duterte-Carpio is currently serving as the President of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Council and has chosen Brunei Darussalam as her first destination.

The visit to Sekolah Rendah Pusar Ulak was met with a warm welcome from esteemed officials, including Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) of the Ministry of Education, and Hjh Norismawati binti Hj Ahmad, the headmistress of the school.

During her stay in Brunei Darussalam, Her Excellency Duterte-Carpio and her delegation will engage in various discussions and activities aimed at promoting education and fostering collaboration among Southeast Asian nations. The visit highlights the Philippines' commitment to regional cooperation in the field of education.

As SEAMEO Council President, Duterte-Carpio will play a crucial role in advancing the organization's objectives, including enhancing the quality of education, promoting research and development, and fostering cultural understanding among member countries.

The visit to Sekolah Rendah Pusar Ulak allows Duterte-Carpio to witness firsthand the educational practices and initiatives implemented by Brunei Darussalam. It also provides an opportunity for dialogue and knowledge exchange with the school's headmistress and staff.
