In a recent statement, Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to discuss the legality of fund transfers, stating, "Malugod po naming tinatanggap ang pagkakataong talakayin ang legalidad ng paglilipat ng pondo." She emphasized her hope that the wisdom of the Supreme Court would pave the way to resolve the matter.
Earlier, a group of lawyers has filed a petition for certiorari against key government agencies, contesting the allocation of ₱125 million in confidential funds to the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in 2022.
Duterte also highlighted the critical task of improving the standards and quality of education in the country and protecting students and DepEd personnel from various threats and abuses, saying, "Ngayon naman, tututukan natin ang mahirap na tungkulin sa pagpapaataas ng antas at kalidad ng edukasyon sa ating bansa at pagprotekta sa ating mga mag-aaral at mga kawani ng DepEd mula sa lahat ng uri ng banta at pang-aabuso."
Furthermore, the Vice President stressed the importance of addressing significant issues related to the prices of goods, as they impact students and their families, "Napakahalagang pagtuunan rin natin ng pansin ang pag-tugon sa mga mahahalagang isyu ukol sa presyo ng mga bilihin na nakakaapekto sa ating mga mag-aaral at kanilang mga pamilya."
