Although the incident was not caught on camera, keen-eared viewers caught wind of the slip-up, sparking a wave of reactions on social media.
Addressing the incident on today's (August 11,2023) show, Wally Bayola took a moment to express his sincere apologies. Alongside his co-host and friend, Jose Manalo, Wally humbly stated, "Ako po ay may nabitawang salita na hindi ko po dapat sinasabi. Nagkamali po ako doon at ako po ay humihingi ng inyong paumanhin at pag-unawa ninyong lahat. Pasensya na po, pasensya na po sa lahat." ("I uttered a word that I shouldn't have said. I made a mistake, and I ask for your forgiveness and understanding. I'm sorry to everyone, I'm sorry to all.")
Vic Sotto, known as "Bossing," also weighed in on the situation, emphasizing the importance of rectifying mistakes. "Ang mahalaga kapag alam nating nagkamali ay dapat itinatama natin," he remarked. ("What's important is that when we know we've made a mistake, we should correct it.")
In light of the incident, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has taken action. The MTRCB issued a Notice to Appear and Testify to the Production Group of E.A.T, summoning them to address the on-air profanity incident. The incident, deemed a violation of Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Presidential Decree No. 1986 (PD No. 1986), has led to a scheduled hearing on 14 August 2023 at the MTRCB Offices in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
The MTRCB emphasized that violations of PD No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, which govern motion pictures, television programs, and related promotional materials, could result in serious consequences. Penalties may include suspension or cancellation of permits and licenses issued by the Board, as well as fines and other administrative penalties.
As fans await the outcome of the MTRCB hearing, the incident serves as a reminder of the responsibility that comes with being in the public eye and the need for vigilance in upholding broadcasting standards.
