Following the devastating impacts of Typhoons Kristine and Pepito, the U.S. showcased its unwavering support by immediately providing relief supplies. Thanks to the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), strategically prepositioned supplies at EDCA sites enabled faster aid delivery to affected communities.

President Marcos Jr. expressed gratitude for the United States’ commitment to helping Filipinos in times of need, emphasizing how the partnership extends beyond defense to humanitarian efforts.

Another significant milestone during Austin's visit was the signing of the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA). This new accord will boost intelligence sharing between the two allies, further enhancing the Philippine military's capability to tackle emerging security threats.

President Marcos Jr. described the collaboration as a vital step toward modernizing the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
