The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has launched a coordinated effort with various law enforcement agencies following the discovery of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) uniforms inside an illicit Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) establishment in Porac, Pampanga. This development underscores concerns about potential security implications linked to the presence of PLA military attire within Philippine territory.

Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla, spokesperson for the AFP, affirmed in a statement to the press on Friday the authenticity of the PLA uniforms found, which belong to the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party and the military institution of the People’s Republic of China. According to Padilla, the AFP is collaborating closely with intelligence agencies and law enforcement bodies to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

The discovery follows a statement from the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), acknowledging that the seized uniforms are genuine but aged. Padilla reiterated the AFP's unwavering commitment to national security, emphasizing that all necessary measures will be taken to address any potential threats posed by such findings.

“We assure the public that we are vigilant and proactive in safeguarding our national interests,” Padilla affirmed, underscoring the AFP's dedication to maintaining robust security measures amidst evolving challenges.
