After over 13 years of anchoring "TV Patrol Weekend," Alvin Elchico said his goodbyes on Sunday, September 1. His weekend stint, which began in 2011, has been a significant chapter in his career, and moving on from it was a bittersweet moment for him.

"Today marks my last day on 'TV Patrol Weekend.' For more than thirteen years, this has been my weekend routine, my job every Saturday and Sunday," Alvin shared with viewers, reflecting on his journey. He expressed sadness over leaving the show that helped him grow as a news anchor, crediting the show's staff and production team for their guidance and support.

But as one chapter closes, another one opens. Starting Monday, September 2, Alvin will be seen on "TV Patrol" every night, stepping into a new role in the newsroom. On social media, he shared his excitement and gratitude, writing, "After more than 13 years, I am leaving as anchor of TV Patrol Weekend! I will miss the weekend grind!"

Alvin took over the anchor duties from Henry Omaga Diaz, and now, as he embarks on this new chapter, his loyal viewers can look forward to seeing him deliver the news every evening.
