In a surprising turn of events, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), was arrested on Sunday, September 8, 2024. The news was first revealed by Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos, who made twin social media posts around 6:30 p.m. confirming the incident.

While details remain scarce, Police Regional Office-Davao Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III addressed the situation briefly. He mentioned that he’s leaving it to Secretary Abalos to provide more information. Despite the high-profile nature of the case, Brig. Gen. Torre emphasized that there’s no animosity between him and Quiboloy’s legal counsel, Israelito Torreon, stating that everyone just did their jobs, and things “turned out well.”

This arrest follows a dramatic police operation that took place on August 24, 2024, when authorities first stormed the KOJC compound in Davao City. Though the operation raised eyebrows, it seems that the legal process has now come full circle with Quiboloy's arrest.
