Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, the detained leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, is making a bold move by running for a Senate seat. His Certificate of Candidacy (COC) was officially filed on Tuesday (Oct. 8, 2024), just in time before the deadline at The Manila Hotel Tent City.

Since Quiboloy couldn’t be physically present, an authorized representative took charge of submitting his COC. According to COMELEC spokesperson Atty. Rex Laudiangco, everything is in order, confirming that the controversial pastor’s bid is indeed legitimate.

Despite his current legal situation, it seems Quiboloy is determined to pursue a political path. Whether or not his candidacy will be accepted, and how this will play out given his ongoing detention, is something everyone’s curious to see unfold. With the senatorial race heating up, Quiboloy’s entry adds another layer of intrigue to the upcoming elections.
