Baguio Midland Courier Closes After 77 Years Of Service

The Baguio Midland Courier, a cornerstone of local journalism for 77 years, will cease operations on July 22, 2024. Since its inaugural issue in April 1947, the Courier has been a trusted source of news, information, and community stories in the northern Philippines.

The decision to close was deeply challenging for the management of Hamada Printers & Publishers Corp. Despite the dedication to its founding mission of being "Fair, Fearless, Friendly, and Free," the newspaper has succumbed to the global challenges facing traditional print media.

With three final issues set for July 7, 14, and 21, the Courier invites advertisers and supporters to contribute and be part of these historic editions.

While the print edition ends, the team is hopeful about new opportunities to continue their mission in other formats and is exploring options to preserve their archives for future reference.

The Baguio Midland Courier extends heartfelt gratitude to its readers, advertisers, and community for their unwavering support over the decades.
