Bamban Mayor Faces New Challenge With Possible Tax Evasion Case

After being slapped with a "preventive suspension" by the Ombudsman on Monday, June 3, Bamban Mayor Alice Guo finds herself once again in the midst of a fresh ordeal as a looming tax evasion case may be filed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).
According to Winston Casio, spokesperson of PAOCC, several officials of POGO companies such as Hong Sheng, Zun Yuan, and Baofu could be implicated in the case.
Authorities are looking into Mayor Alice Guo's involvement in the illegal operations of a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub in the municipality, prompting the Ombudsman to place her under preventive suspension pending further investigation.
