Batanes Bishop Danilo Ulep is calling on the community to come together and extend a helping hand to those severely affected by Super Typhoon Julian. The storm, which brought devastating winds of up to 215 kilometers per hour, left much of Batanes in ruins after Signal Number 4 was raised on September 30.

Bishop Ulep shared that many parts of the province were severely damaged by the typhoon's powerful winds and heavy rains. Even churches, the Clergy House, the bishop’s residence, and the St. Dominic College were not spared from the destruction.

“It is during this time of crisis that I urge each one of you to join hands and prove that in the spirit of Synodality, we journey together in rebuilding our shattered lives, especially in these moments of difficulty,” Bishop Ulep said.

The bishop assured the community that they will work together to strengthen the efforts toward recovery. He emphasized that rebuilding isn’t just about restoring structures but also about lifting the spirits of those who have lost their homes and properties.

“Let us share our time, talent, and treasure to anyone who is badly in need of help. Let us all put into action our famous and rich tradition of helping each other,” Bishop Ulep added.

For those who wish to extend support, donations can be deposited at Landbank Basco Branch under the account name “Prelature of Batanes” with account number 1081-0502-08. Donations can also be sent via GCash to Bishop Danilo Ulep at 0917-578-0198 or Edilbert Concordia at 0949-465-3918.

Bishop Ulep also reminded donors to send their proof of donation to chancerybatanes@gmail.com for proper acknowledgment and to avoid any fraudulent activities.

The bishop continues to ask for prayers for strength and resilience for all those affected by Super Typhoon Julian, especially the people of Northern Luzon and Batanes, as they face the challenges of recovery and rebuilding.
