Batangas And Rizal Police Provincial Directors Commit To Enforcing LPG Law
Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers Association (LPGMA) Partylist founder and former Congressman Arnel Ty recently conducted a series of courtesy visits to regional police officials to discuss Republic Act 11592, also known as the “LPG Industry Regulation Act” (LIRA). The visits aimed to reinforce the collaboration between the LPGMA Partylist and law enforcement agencies in implementing LIRA’s provisions effectively.

Visit to Batangas PPO

On July 10, 2024, Ty visited PCOL Jacinto Malinao Jr, Acting Provincial Director of the Batangas Provincial Police Office (PPO), at Camp Miguel Malvar, Kumintang Ilaya, Batangas City.

The meeting focused on enhancing the enforcement of safety and regulatory standards within the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) industry, as stipulated by the LPG Industry Regulation Act.

Malinao Jr expressed his appreciation for Ty’s initiative, emphasizing the importance of such partnerships in ensuring public safety and industry compliance.
Visit to Rizal PPO

A week earlier, Ty met with Police Colonel Felipe Maraggun, Provincial Director of the Rizal Provincial Police Office. The discussion centered on reinforcing law enforcement to ensure the effective implementation of the law across various industries, particularly those vital to the livelihood of the residents of Rizal.
Colonel Maraggun warmly received Ty, acknowledging the significance of his visit and the collaborative efforts to bolster regulatory enforcement.

Congressman Ty’s Commitment to Law Enforcement and Industry Regulation

During these visits, Ty reiterated his commitment to working closely with local law enforcement agencies to safeguard the interests of end-consumers and industry stakeholders. He highlighted the necessity for robust enforcement of safety standards and regulations within the LPG industry, ensuring the protection and well-being of the public.

“I have full trust in the capabilities of our Provincial Police Directors to enforce the LPG Industry Regulation Act properly. Their dedication to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of our communities is commendable. Together, we can create a secure and well-regulated environment for the LPG industry,” Ty said.

The LPG Industry Regulation Act aims to protect end-consumers, ensure their general welfare, and establish standards of conduct for the LPG industry. Key provisions include instituting reforms in existing standards and codes of practice, ensuring health, safety, security, environmental, and quality standards, and promoting awareness regarding the proper use of LPG pressure vessels.
