Jonvic Remulla is now the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) after getting the thumbs-up from the Commission on Appointments (CA). The confirmation happened during a plenary session on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, with Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero leading the charge.

Remulla, who’s been a household name in Cavite for his long-running public service, earned praise for his stellar track record. From being a provincial board member to vice governor, district representative, and governor, he’s certainly no stranger to the ins and outs of governance.

The senators didn’t hold back on showing their support, emphasizing his strong leadership and extensive experience. After the session, the newly confirmed DILG chief posed for a celebratory photo with the CA members, marking a new chapter in his public service career.

Remulla’s appointment brings high expectations, especially in handling critical national issues like local governance, peace and order, and disaster response. With his track record, many are hopeful he’s the right man for the job.
