As of 8:00 AM on October 22, 2024, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (RDRRM) Operations Center in CALABARZON has been placed on "Red" alert. The decision comes after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 for the provinces of Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon in its Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 5.

Leading the proactive efforts, the Office of Civil Defense CALABARZON held a Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) meeting yesterday. During the meeting, regional officials discussed elevating the Emergency Response Protocol (EPR) to "Charlie" status and activating response clusters to brace for the potential impact of Tropical Storm Kristine.

In line with RDRRMC Memorandum No. 143 s. 2024, CALABARZON’s disaster response team is closely monitoring the situation. The virtual Emergency Operations Center has been activated, with regular weather updates being conducted to keep everyone informed.

With Tropical Storm Kristine already bringing rain to various parts of the country, residents in affected areas are reminded to stay vigilant, heed advisories, and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
