Amid the rising political tensions in the country, Cardinal Jose Advincula of Manila has issued a heartfelt call for prayer and sobriety, urging Filipinos to come together in this challenging time.

In a recent statement, Cardinal Advincula acknowledged the distressing situation the country finds itself in, with many still reeling from the impact of recent typhoons. He noted how the political storm brewing in the leadership circles has taken a toll, draining energy from those in power who are already struggling to serve those most in need.

In his message, the Cardinal humbly asked the faithful to pray for political leaders, that they may receive the wisdom and grace needed to lead with statesmanship during such trying times. “Let us pray that our leaders may have the humility to listen to each other with respect and act together for the common good,” the Cardinal said, highlighting the need for cooperation across political lines.

He also called on leaders from all sectors of society, especially those of goodwill, to step up and prevent the escalation of political conflicts, encouraging everyone to work toward reconciliation.

"Let us all pray for forgiveness and reconciliation, never doubting God’s grace and love for His people,” Cardinal Advincula said, before entrusting the nation’s well-being to the guidance of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
