Certificates Of Candidacy For 2025 Elections To Be Posted Online
In a bid to bolster transparency in the electoral process, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will publish all received Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the 2025 National and Local Elections on its official website.

This decision, outlined in Memorandum No. 2024 issued by COMELEC Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia, aims to provide easy access for election stakeholders and the general public to scrutinize the COCs.

The memorandum, addressed to the Honorable Commission En Banc and transmitted via Director IV Consuelo Diola of the COMELEC Secretary's Office, recommends that all COCs be posted within two weeks following the closure of the filing period. This move is intended to ensure accountability among candidates regarding the accuracy of information provided and sworn statements in their COCs.

Moreover, Chairman Garcia proposed that the COMELEC Law Department and Information Technology Department collaborate on drafting guidelines to govern the implementation of this initiative. These guidelines, once approved by the Commission En Banc, will formalize the process of posting COCs online, further enhancing the transparency and integrity of future elections.

The posting of COCs online represents a significant step towards promoting transparency, accountability, and public trust in the electoral process. As the preparations for the 2025 National and Local Elections unfold, COMELEC remains committed to upholding its mandate of ensuring free, fair, and credible elections in the Philippines.
