CIDG Chief Pledges Support To Combat LPG Industry Violations Under RA 11592

In a significant move to uphold the integrity of the LPG industry, Major General Leo Francisco, Chief of the Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), has pledged robust assistance in cracking down on violators, particularly under Republic Act 11592.

Speaking as the main guest at a recent industry gathering, Major General Francisco underscored the critical role of stringent law enforcement in enabling legitimate LPG businesses to confront illegal operators effectively. He reaffirmed his commitment to bolstering operations aimed at curbing illicit activities within the sector.

Republic Act 11592, which focuses on ensuring the safety and reliability of LPG distribution nationwide, took center stage in Major General Francisco’s address. He assured industry leaders of the CIDG’s prioritization of operations against unlawful practices, emphasizing the protection of consumers and legitimate enterprises alike.

Arnel Ty, President of Regasco and former Congressman, expressed deep appreciation for Major General Francisco’s unwavering dedication. "We are deeply grateful to Major General Francisco for his unwavering dedication and commitment to upholding the law within the LPG industry," Ty remarked. He highlighted the significance of the CIDG’s proactive stance in enforcing RA 11592, describing it as pivotal in the battle against illegal operators.

Ty expressed optimism regarding the CIDG’s resolve to eliminate unlawful activities, stressing the positive impact on market dynamics and public safety. "The support and proactive measures taken by Major General Francisco and the CIDG give us renewed hope and confidence," Ty added, emphasizing collective efforts to halt illegal activities and foster a secure environment for legitimate LPG enterprises.

The industry gathering drew significant participation from key stakeholders, including representatives from the LPG Marketers Association (LPGMA), LPG Industry Association (LPGIA), and major companies such as Regasco, South Pacific Industries, Petron Gasul, Isla LPG, Phoenix LPG, Brenton International Venture Manufacturing Corp, and Gazlite. Stakeholders voiced unanimous support for strengthened law enforcement measures and committed to collaborative efforts with the CIDG to uphold industry standards and regulations.

This gathering marks a pivotal moment in the LPG sector's quest for regulatory compliance and consumer safety, propelled by Major General Francisco’s proactive leadership and the industry's collective determination to ensure fair and lawful practices.
