As the holiday season approaches, the Senate and House of Representatives are on a fast track to enact five crucial bills before the Christmas break. Senate President Francis Escudero announced this exciting news during the recent Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting at Malacañang.

Escudero shared that both chambers are working diligently to finalize these measures, saying, “We expect an additional five of these bills to be finished and enacted on the part of the Senate and the House before the year ends and before we go on our Christmas break,” He added that they aim to pass an additional 13 measures when sessions resume.

Speaker of the House Martin Romualdez echoed this sentiment, noting that the House has nearly completed all priority legislation.“And we are confident that before the year ends, we shall have finished all by December or six months in advance."

Among the bills still on the table are amendments to the Foreign Investors’ Long-Term Lease, the Agrarian Reform Law, and key health care reforms. While top priority bills are advancing smoothly, some secondary measures are facing hurdles, but lawmakers remain committed to overcoming these challenges.
