In a recent development, the 22nd Division of the Court of Appeals in Cagayan de Oro City has nullified the temporary protection order (TPO) previously issued by the RTC Branch 15 in Davao City. This TPO, concerning the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Compound, was effectively rendered void by the higher court.

The Court of Appeals ruled that the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Davao City had overstepped its bounds. The court's decision stated, "The Court finds that the public respondent RTC Branch 15 - Davao City has acted without authority in taking cognizance of the [writ of] amparo case. It follows that the issuance of temporary protection order has no basis."

This decision underscores the limitations of the lower court's authority in such cases, and it's a significant development for those involved in the legal proceedings related to the KOJC Compound.

With the TPO now invalid, the situation at the KOJC Compound is expected to shift as the case continues to unfold. Stay tuned for more updates as this case progresses!
