The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has intensified its vigilance over the condition of five Filipino passengers who were injured during an emergency landing of their Singapore-bound flight in Bangkok, Thailand, on 21 May 2024.

Among the passengers are a family of three, including a two-year-old male infant, whose mother is a registered overseas Filipino worker (OFW) staff nurse in the United Kingdom (UK). The husband, accompanying his family, does not hold OFW status. Another passenger is a female OFW based in Singapore, employed in the information technology sector. The fifth passenger, a male, also lacks OFW records.

Following the incident, they were promptly transported to various hospitals in Bangkok, where they underwent medical treatment for injuries sustained during the emergency landing. Extensive medical and physical tests were conducted, and their conditions are reported to be stable, including that of the infant.

However, doctors are closely monitoring the Singapore-based OFW, who suffered a neck fracture. Although her condition is described as "sensitive," she remains stable under medical care.

The Migrant Workers Office in Singapore (MWO-SG) and the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok (PE-BKK) are collaborating to oversee their recovery process until they are discharged and can resume their journey.
