The Department of Education (DepEd) is actively investigating allegations of school personnel selling booklets or workbooks and demanding payments for Catch-Up Fridays and other school activities. DepEd emphasizes that such practices are strictly prohibited, and Catch-Up Fridays should not entail any out-of-pocket costs for parents and learners.

DepEd urges parents and learners to refrain from participating in unauthorized transactions and emphasizes that no payments should be made for school-related materials or activities.

It said that officials are committed to ensuring the integrity of education and will take appropriate administrative actions against individuals found guilty of engaging in such unauthorized schemes.
